GUDE Canada Privacy Notice

This Privacy Notice explains how GUDE Canada handles personal information during its current pre-launch and waitlist phase. We apply the principles of Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), applicable provincial private-sector privacy laws, Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL), and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) where it applies.

2. Scope of this notice
This notice applies to gudecanada.com, the GUDE Canada waitlist, newsletter subscriptions, contact emails and the technical operation and security of this website. GUDE Canada is not yet a booking platform. This notice will be reviewed before booking, payment, identity verification or helper-matching features are introduced.
3. Personal information we collect
- Waitlist registrations: name, email address, whether you are looking for help or want to become a GUDE, consent status and registration date.
- Newsletter subscriptions: email address, subscription category, consent and unsubscribe status, plus delivery records needed to manage the mailing list.
- Messages: your email address, name and the contents of messages you send to us.
- Technical and security data: IP address, date and time, requested URL, browser or device information, referrer and security events. This information is processed in server and Wordfence security logs.
Please do not send sensitive personal, health, financial or identification information through the current waitlist or newsletter forms.
4. Why we use personal information
We use personal information only for purposes a reasonable person would consider appropriate, including to:
- manage the GUDE Canada waitlist and understand community interest;
- send the requested welcome email and relevant launch or community updates;
- respond to questions and service-related messages;
- operate, protect and troubleshoot the website and prevent abuse;
- document consent, unsubscribe requests and delivery status; and
- meet legal, security and record-keeping obligations.
We do not sell or rent personal information.
5. Consent and legal bases
For Canadian recipients, we rely on meaningful consent and the reasonable-purpose requirements under PIPEDA and applicable provincial laws. Alberta, British Columbia and Quebec have private-sector privacy laws that may apply to activities within those provinces; PIPEDA may continue to apply to interprovincial and international data flows.
For launch and community emails, you provide express consent by selecting the waitlist consent box or submitting the clearly identified newsletter subscription form. Messages identify GUDE Canada and include a working unsubscribe link. You may withdraw consent at any time.
Where the GDPR applies, processing is based on consent (Article 6(1)(a)), steps taken at your request or communication connected with a future service (Article 6(1)(b)), legitimate interests in operating and securing the website (Article 6(1)(f)), and legal obligations where relevant (Article 6(1)(c)).
6. Service providers and international processing
The website and its email service are hosted by ALL-INKL.COM in Germany. Waitlist data is stored in this WordPress installation. Administrative email notifications are sent to gude@gudecanada.com and may be forwarded to a Yahoo Mail account used by the owner. As a result, email data may be processed outside Canada and the European Economic Area, including in the United States, where it may be subject to local law.
Wordfence processes technical request and security information to protect the site. EWWW Image Optimizer is configured for local image optimization and WebP delivery. WordPress and Yoast SEO support publishing and site administration. Providers receive only the information needed for their function.
7. Cookies and similar technology
The public website currently does not use analytics or advertising cookies. WordPress, Wordfence and administrative functions may use strictly necessary cookies or similar identifiers for security, session management and correct operation. If optional analytics or marketing tools are added later, this notice and the consent mechanism will be updated first.
8. Retention
Waitlist and newsletter information is kept while you remain subscribed and while it is needed for the stated pre-launch purposes. We periodically review stored information and delete or anonymize it when it is no longer needed. After an unsubscribe request, marketing mail stops and a limited suppression record may be retained so that your preference can be respected. Technical and security logs are retained according to operational security requirements and provider schedules.
9. Safeguards and privacy breaches
We use HTTPS encryption, access controls, authenticated email delivery, Wordfence security protection and regular software updates. No internet service can guarantee absolute security. Where applicable law requires it, qualifying privacy breaches will be documented, reported to the relevant authority and communicated to affected individuals.
10. Your privacy choices and rights
You may ask us to:
- confirm whether we hold personal information about you and explain its use and disclosure;
- provide access to that information and correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
- withdraw consent or unsubscribe from communications;
- delete information where applicable or when it is no longer needed; and
- object to or restrict processing, or request portability, where the GDPR provides those rights.

Please contact us first so we can address your concern. Canadian residents may also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or the appropriate provincial privacy authority. 12. Changes to this notice
We may update this notice when the GUDE Canada service changes or legal requirements develop. The current version and update date will always be published on this page.
